The 273 ELL season, the 12th regular season of the Elite League Limmie's Kayl'hen Era, began with the defending Galactic Cup of Limmie champions Ryloth Rough Riders losing to the Coruscant Senators 15-32 and will end with the 118th Galactic Cup Final, the league's championship game, where the Solo Conference Champion Coruscant Senators lost to the Skywalker Conference Champion Ylesia Lightning, 3-7.
Prior to the start of the season it was announced that the GCLA Champions Ylesia Lightning were being promoted to the ELL and joining the Skywalker Conference. In order to balance out the two conferences, the Chandrila Patriots were invited to rejoin the league and placed in the Solo Conference. These changes caused the conference schedule to take presidence in determining playoff positions.
Season structure[]
The ELL season featured the following schedule:
an exhibition season to play friendlies versus teams from other leagues;
a 7-game, 7-week regular season; and
a 6-team single-elimination playoff, culminating in the Galactic Cup Final
Regular Season[]
The additions of the Ylesia Lightning and the Chandrila Patriots, allowed for an unbalanced, five conference game, round-robin scheduling formula. It also meant that, barring any future expansions, that non-conference games were on a three year rotation.
